The second letter: the present.
I cannot believe it’s been 6 years, we’ve been so caught up in moving, upgrading and working that i didn’t even realise 1.10.20 has been 6 years and 2 weeks ago. When it hit me I felt like an idiot, like everything about my forgetfulness and not being thoughtful was eternally true.
But then I realised it still doesn’t have to be. We’ve moved out, we make our own money, we work together better than I’ve ever seen anyone in my life do so. All of this happened in the space of 3 weeks. And it does no good to dwell on what I could already be, when I can just keep trying to be better. It’s been a complete and utter blessing to have you in my life. And like mentioned a lot has changed, and there’s a whole lot more that will change.
But as we, 20 years of age, set on our own path head towards this new future. There’s not a single doubt in my mind that we will crush it.
I know the change has been hard, no one said it would be comfortable, we’ve argued, shouted and cried. But we always find a way to laugh, cuddle, kiss and embrace each other, and as we potentially step into a more religious age of our life. Who knows what’s possible.
You are a fantastic woman, I’m seriously proud of the person you’re becoming, choosing you every day of my life has led to insane returns. You’re sweeter, better spoken, prettier, more respectful and the list goes on.
But more than anything, you are truly an integral part of my life now. Not in just the “I really love you” way, but in the way where I genuinely don’t think I could push without you. You’re the uranium to my nuclear power plant. And I would not work without you.
I’m running out of space, but the gist is, I’m excited for our future, sorry about forgetting our anniversary (I hope you haven’t mentioned it to me yet) and I love you. So very very much. You’re the best.
Yours,
EJ
